HemingwayDesign were appointed by The Dreamland Trust in 2011 to develop a vision, create a brand, tone of voice, and lead on the full design proposition for a re-imagined Dreamland. As project designers, HemingwayDesign led on all public facing touch points including masterplanning, the re-purposing of rides, interior design and furniture specification, bespoke fixtures and fittings, artistic interventions, brand and graphic, marketing and merchandise.
Nine years on, in 2020, HemingwayDesign our friends at Dreamland asked us to design a special 100th anniversary logo for the park. Our approach was influenced by the retro style of Margate’s seafront promenade with a goal to bring it up to date with a touch of modernist minimalism. The new logo translates the numerals into multicoloured blocks that echo the colourful aesthetic applied throughout the Dreamland site and its existing identity.
