Vintage New Year’s Eve Spectacular

In 2011, we came up with the idea of subdividing one of our favourite buildings in London, The Royal Festival Hall, into a series of decade specific nightclubs and since 2012, we've been working with the Southbank Centre to throw most glamorous New Year’s Eve Party in London – nay, the UK, we reckon!

From 2012 to 2023, HemingwayDesign founded and curated the iconic extravaganza that was the Vintage New Year’s Eve Spectacular at The Royal Festival Hall, Southbank. This unforgettable event transformed the venue into a set-dressed vintage wonderland, featuring five pop-up vintage nightclubs with live bands, DJs, dance classes, themed bars, photo studios, and a private terrace overlooking the Thames, from which guests could view London’s world-famous NYE fireworks. Each event attracted over 3,000 attendees, dressed in their vintage finery, to dance into the new year soundtracked to an eclectic mix of pop, soul, rhythm and blues, funk, disco, or house – the event truly offering something for everyone.

Guests twirled in the 1930s Torch Club, partied Studio 54 style at Disco Royale, learned classic moves spanning decades in the Land of a Thousand Dances, sipped cocktails while enjoying cross-continental culture in the High Lounge, and topped it all off with a bop at Bar Bonkers to serious 80s and 90s floorfillers.
